Admit it or not, denims are a must-have in every closet. Regardless of one’s gender, denims never go out of style. And there’s a reason for this.
Pop culture played an important role in denim’s ubiquity. Look back on the past eighty-odd years, a handful of key moments from entertainment, politics, and fashion stand out. From James Dean to Barack Obama, denim is ingrained in modern culture!
I actually belong to the majority of people who keep their old denims even if they’re no longer being used. I don’t really know why, but I just find it hard to let go of them.
In order to relieve myself of the guilt of keeping them, I decided to make DIYs one summer. I converted my denim jeans into shorts, while using the excess material in making a tote bag. Since I still have some left, I looked for other ideas on what to do with them. I came across a project that turned denim pockets into a mini-organizer.
The project is very simple and easy to make. You can make several of these and give them away to friends. Plus, it’s like hitting two birds with one stone. You get to re-purpose old jeans and you also organize your stuff!

- Old pair of jeans
