Our next door neighbour recently threw out several garden hoses. He said his son gave him several new ones. “Out with the old, in with the new,” he added. For me, it was perfect timing. I recently came across a DIY project involving old garden hoses. So I asked him if I could have his ‘trash.’ He agreed.
And so I went home happy. I have four old garden hoses that I can breathe new life into. I’ve wanted something I can put my garden tools in. I decided to make a basket out of the hoses.
The project is very, very simple. Since it didn’t involve high-powered tools, I asked one of my sons to help me out. He basically did most of the tying – you’ll know what I mean when you go over the tutorial.
We made four beautiful baskets made out of old garden hoses. Two we use to hold tools in the garden, one is in the kitchen holding freshly cut flowers. The other one, I gave to my mother-in-law – and she liked it, too!
