From an old nightstand to an adorable play kitchen!

Nightstand Play Kitchen

A nightstand is an important piece of furniture in the bedroom. It provides a place to put a lamp, alarm clock, and other items that you may need during the night. Having a nightstand next to your bed can help to make your bedroom more organized and can give you a place to put your things when you are not using them.

Here’s another upcycling project for those of you who want to give the little kids an awesome kitchen set to play with… Build one with an old nightstand! You can easily turn it into an awesome play kitchen for your kids! Just a few simple steps and some imagination are all it takes.

Nightstand Play Kitchen

Don’t have an old nightstand? You can easily find one from secondhand stores, the flea market or perhaps a garage sale market in your area. And while you’re at it, look for kitchen utensils or little pots and pans that you can add to the play kitchen! The more realistic their play set looks, the more the kids will love it 😉

Now this project may be unique for everyone since every used nightstand is different, but it is very easy to do regardless. If you need an idea of how to go about it, you can head over to the article linked below our album!

Most nightstands have two drawers, which provides ample storage space for small items such as books, eyeglasses, or a lamp. Some nightstands may also have a shelf or cabinet for additional storage. These features make them ideal for transforming into a play kitchen, as they provide plenty of space to store toy dishes, pots and pans, and other play food.

So is this going to be your next DIY project for the kids?

How to transform your old nightstand into a play kitchen?

To make the transformation, you will likely have to remove the drawers. Then, start by thoroughly cleaning the nightstand. You can do this by sanding down old paint, or by using a cleaner made specifically for wood furniture. Once the nightstand is clean, you can begin painting it in your desired colour. Be sure to use paint that is made for furniture, and that will protect the wood from future damage.

To make your play kitchen more realistic, you can design the first drawer as an oven. This will give your child a realistic experience when they are cooking in their play kitchen. You can use different materials to make the oven, such as wood or cardboard. If you want to make the oven more realistic, you can add details such as a knob on the front of the drawer.

The lower drawer can be used as storage for play pots and kitchen utensils. This is a great way to keep your child’s play area organized and tidy. You can hang a curtain to cover the storage area, which will help to contain any mess.

To make playtime even more fun for your little ones, install a play sink on top of their nightstand table. This will add to their play kitchen and let them use their imagination even more. Plus, it’s easy to install and sure to bring lots of laughter and fun.

You can also add hook screws to where you can hang small pots or add shelves for extra storage. This is a great way to increase the amount of storage in your play kitchen without taking up too much space.
