A bench is a functional piece of furniture, used in various ways. However, a bench is just a bench until you add faux fur into it, and then it becomes THE bench – functional and stylish. After all, nothing else says chic more than fur.

If you have an old, boring bench and you want to breathe some life into it, transforming it into a fur bench is a great idea. If you don’t have an old one, you can build it from scratch.

I saw one site selling faux fur benches for not less than $300. But why spend 300 bucks when you can build this on your own at nowhere near half the retail price?

You’ll need these materials:

  • 3/4″ x 34″ x 15″ particle board or plywood
  • 4 pcs – 16″ furniture legs with brackets
  • Foam
  • Shag/Fur
  • Batting
  • Paint (if you want to paint the legs in a different color)

And these tools:

  • Staple gun
  • Screwdriver
  • Paintbrush

Don’t limit yourself to fur benches. Why not use it on ottomans, couches, stools, and chairs, too? Check out this gallery of fur-covered furniture…
